In the 70's my parents bought a much larger house. They had four kids and I was finally going to have my own room. I was really excited about it.

My dad spent at least a year fixing up that house. It was built in 1890 and he really did a great job. When he was done it had hardwood floors you could see your reflection in, woodwork that everyone loved and he even restored the original stained glass windows and lamps. It was great.

One of the things I remember is that my parents put a textured wallpaper on the staircase. It was red and beige and velvety. The pattern looked much like this dress.
